Why am I not receiving any candidates?
A quick checklist for when applications are slow or missing.
Once your job is live it goes out to our network of 50+ job boards. If candidates are not coming in, or the volume is low, run through this checklist.
- Give it up to 24 hours. New jobs can take up to a day to go live across the boards, and each board posts at a different time, so it is often slow at first.
- Check the job is Active. On the Jobs list, the status pill should read Active. If it says Draft, Paused, or Pending, the job is not out on the boards yet.
- Make sure free job boards are on. Free posting to 50+ boards should be turned on for the job (the "Free job boards" toggle on the Distribution step).
- Clean up the title. Use a plain, single job title. Avoid symbols like / | $ and phrases like "Hiring Now", and keep it under 60 characters. Post one job per title rather than stacking several roles into one.
- Set the pay. Leaving pay off or setting it below market drives applicants away. A fair, visible salary range attracts more candidates.
- Do not ask for too much. A long application or lots of required fields makes people drop off. Keep what applicants submit to what you truly need.
Our team checks for these issues when your job goes out. If you think your role is affected, edit the job yourself or reach out and we will take a look.
