Adding Custom User Roles

Tailor what a team member can access with a custom role.

If your plan supports custom roles, you can fine-tune what a team member is able to see and do, then assign that role like any other. Custom roles are handy when a person needs more or less access than the standard roles give them.

Open Team Members

  1. In the left sidebar, go to Settings.
  2. Under COMPANY, select Team Members.

Assign a custom role

To add a new person, select Invite user and enter their details. For anyone already on the list, open the Role dropdown next to their name and choose the role you want.

A role defines what that user can access across the workspace, so pick the one that matches what they should be able to do.

Good to know

  • The account creator is the Owner, and that role is locked.
  • You can change someone's role at any time from the same dropdown.
  • Use the Active toggle to turn access on or off without deleting the person.

Tip: Set up your roles before inviting a group of people so each new user lands with the right access from day one.
